Here we have a fabulous chunky Copper Cuff. The technique used is called air chasing whereby you trap 'pockets of air' in the forging process these being the raised bits of the cuff. It has been oxidised to bring out the high's and lows of the design then polished to a high shine then it has been coated with a light wax to protect it.
As each of of these cuffs is made from scratch, each one will be slightly different than the one in the photograph.
Copper is a traditional Anniversary gift in the UK for 7 years of marriage. As with all Copper over time it will take on a natural patina which adds to it's charm, however if you want to bring it back to it's original shine and colour, any commercially available metal polish will work.
All my jewellery is hand made in my little workshop, I use traditional hand tools to make, stamp & texture my jewellery. As everything is made by hand and to order nothing is mass produced no two will ever be identical.
Hand stamped items are done by stamping each letter individually using hand stamps and a hammer as such the alignment of the letters will not be perfect this gives the item charm and character, hand stamping gives a nice deep impression.
